About Me

Am a Kenyan, a father, a Social Media & Technology Consultant, Political Scientist, a PHP Developer and Designer. My first love is my two daughters, lovely Charlene and Charnele Mugo. I have derived joy and contentment from working on the internet since 2001 and I can gladly say I found a home. Throughout my career, I have encountered great learning experiences and great heights of interaction with the African tech world.

For the years I have been online, my curious mind has led me to learning a great deal. Through this blog, I am able to share most of what I have learned and continue learning. Take this ride with me and lets connect.

I have worked for and with many African organizations and influential individuals between 2001 and now. Brands and people I have worked for/with include Tanzania’s President Jakaya Kikwete, South Sudanese President Salva Kiir, Kenya’s Vice President Dr. Kalonzo Musyoka, Push Mobile, Tanzania, Vodacom, Verve KO, World Vision, Raidar Creative, Bongo5 Media, Tristar Africa Ltd, Charm Concepts, TriNC Media, Bernsoft Interactive among others.

I have also been involved in social media initiatives in Kenya like Kenyans for Kenya, Kenya28Feb among others.

I am an active founding member of Wikimedia Kenya, the organization behind Wikipedia involved in several projects in the country including translation of Wikipedia articles to Swahili, creating local content, expanding use of Wikipedia in schools and much more.

On 31st March 2012, I was elected a member of the first ever board of Wikimedia Kenya and on April 14th 2012 I was elected the Board Chairman and CEO of Wikimedia Kenya.

I am also an active member of the WordPress community in Kenya and the organizer of WordCamp Kenya 2011, a very successful WordPress conference.

I am committed to being involved in initiatives that moves the growth of the ICT industry in the country.
